Almost every educated person knows the world’s most famous cultural monuments. These special places of scenic beauty, pieces of cultural heritage and historic sites will definitely blow you away. Every monument represents its own history, epoch, area, culture, belief, traditions of a city or even a country. Every cultural icon acts as a symbol with different meanings. Let us dive into the magic world of the most breathtaking monuments of the world.

• The Kaaba (Masjid al-Haram) 

From the world history, we know it is a huge black cube in Mecca that acts as the oldest and the most sacred building in Islam. Towards it, the Muslims must face when praying. That is why around the Kaaba is a mosque Masjid al-Haram. According to the Pillars of Islam, this place belongs to the must see thingsfor every Muslim during the Hajj pilgrimage.

• The Taj Mahal

It is a snow-white marble mausoleum, which is considered to be one of the most amazing places in the world. This so-called ‘crown of palaces’ is one of the famous wonders of the world. The area of about 552 Acres is set in splendid gardens.

• The Egyptian pyramids 

These ancient masonry structures include 138 pyramids. All of them were built as tombs for the Egyptian pharaohs and their wives. The Pyramid of Djoser is the earliest one.

• The Great Wall of China

This fortification was built across the historical borders of the Chinese Empire to protect it and its people from the intrusions by the other tribes, groups, or enemy forces. It can be seen from the outer space and also belongs to the wonders of the world.

• The Acropolis Hill

The ‘Sacred Rock’ of Athens is the ancient citadel that contains the Parthenon and other notable buildings. If you are an aesthete, this real masterpiece will definitely catch your eye. The Acropolis is the symbol of the city and the historical point in the culture of not only Greece but also the whole world. It represents the apogee of the artistic and cultural development of ancient Greece.

• Liberty Enlightening the World 

Being a gift of friendship from the Frenchmen to the Americans, it is also a symbol of freedom and democracy for each citizen of the Earth. The following symbol is located at the entrance to New York Harbor. As for me, all the monuments mentioned above belong to my list of must see things.
