5 Steps to Getting All As

5 Steps to Getting All As

It always seems that being a good student is too much work to bother. Well, I’m here to tell you that you can get all As and have fun in college. You probably have your own quick study hacks and my ideas might not work for everyone, but these little tips have considerably helped me bump up my GPA, so I think they are worth sharing with the world.

Study something You Love

This is a pretty straightforward tip. If your major is something you are passionate about, your love for the subject will fuel your success. I’ve had friends who chose disciplines based on whether it was possible to make money after graduation. I must say that I respect their decision, but it is easy to see that it was much harder for them to dedicate themselves.

Study with Friends

People are social creatures. When you are alone, it is easy to get distracted from the task at hand. When you are in a group, you will inspire each other to work harder and do better. You can also collaborate and solve difficult problems together. On the other hand, it is also possible that you will spend all of your time chatting and fooling around. My only advice for you would be to carefully choose members of your study group.

Schedule Your Homework hours

It is easier to study an hour a day than cram right before the exam. It is also a whole lot more productive. You can choose any hour of the day. Don’t like late night study session? Study during the day! Working on a big project? Separate it into small pieces and conquer them separately!

Avoid Stress

Most people starting college are afraid of missing out. They take on too much and end up as overworked, overwhelmed wrecks. Pace yourself. It is better to do less but better then attempt a lot of endeavors and fail at all of them. If you have a relatively small workload and still feel stressed out, try to find out what is causing it and eliminate the stress triggers.

Express yourself during Classes

Participation can get you a lot of nice things the best of which is recognition and the sense of fulfillment. When you actively express your opinions and, as a result, get noticed, you are motivated to work even harder and achieve even more. Professors notice active students and are more likely to award them good grades. If you are not the type to speak up during class, try to show your enthusiasm through extra-credit assignments and visits during office hours.

It might take time and effort, but the results are worth it, especially if you love your future profession and are ready to dedicate yourself to it.
